New Tricks

As soon as I finished teaching my first Excel course I was on a high. For a while I could not pinpoint why. Teaching was never something I ever considered, let alone thought I would be good at, but it seemed that I felt right at home doing it. Sure, it felt good to share knowledge with others. And yes, connecting with people about something I was passionate about was satisfying and fulfilling. But it all really clicked when I got feedback on the class from my students. Almost every single one told me that the tips and tricks that I had taught them were "life-changing".

Excel? Life-Changing? It sounded silly at first, but after more and more feedback along those lines, I came to hear what my students were really telling me. The information I had passed on to them was going to save them time, make their job easier, and expand their skill set. Life-Changing.

I still feel that same high after every Excel training session. And I still get that same feedback every time. I might think that these are small skills, but in the course of day to day business they have a big impact. Whether you are a corporate manager, a small business owner, or just in business for yourself, using Excel with ease comes down to the little things that can change your life.
